O'Neill's second wife, Agnes Ruby Boulton, had three sisters -- Barbara Boulton, Cecil Maude Boulton, and Margery Winifred Boulton ("Budge"). O'Neill and Agnes moved to Peaked Hill Bars -- a converted Coast Guard station in Provincetown, Massachusetts -- in May of 1919. |
Peaked Hill Dearest Budge -- I was awfully glad to get your second letter, and to know that you felt so much better. No doubt you got my special delivery. I don't see why you don't stay nights at the office as it is only for a couple of weeks anyhow. I know it would be O.K. if he gave you a closet shelf to put your toilet articles. It would save your strength a lot. Have you met Buckley? Is he married, and if so what is his wife like? Do write and tell me. Bobby Jones is here now. Gene was glad to hear you had been to see Arthur (Pryor), and about the books. Gaga will get the lace and sew it on and send the things to you. If you need any others, get them at one of the stores. It is just like fall here. Hope it is cool in N.Y. Much love and take care of yourself. Lovingly, Did the trunk arrive. It left here Monday. |
